Only cast people who've said yes
Our games let you put real people in them: your friends as the monsters, your family in the haunted house, your voice as the scream. That's the fun of it, and it only works if everyone in the game is in on it.
Effective October 23, 2026. This is part of our Terms of Use, and covers everything you add to any Game the Sky game: games, houses, levels, words, names, photos, pictures, posters, sounds and voices.
Ask first
- Only use photos or voices of people who've agreed to be in the game, knowing what it is (for example, that they'll be a monster that gets shot, and that a published game is public).
- When someone asks to be taken out, take them out, and we will too.
- Before your first photo or sound, the games ask you to tick “These people have agreed”. Ticking it is your promise that everyone you add has said yes.
Never
- Nothing that sexualizes a minor, ever. No photos of children in anything violent or adult, at all. We remove it at once, keep the account out of every game, and report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as US law requires.
- No sexual content showing real people, and no nudity or sexual content of anyone.
- No showing real people committing crimes, or doing anything that could be taken as true and hurt them: no fake confessions, fake evidence or fake news.
- No harassment. Don't use a game to target, humiliate, threaten or bully anyone, and never a private person who didn't agree. No posting someone's private information.
- No hate. Nothing that attacks people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or serious illness.
- No threats or incitement of real violence, and nothing that encourages self-harm.
- No copyrighted material without the rights. Only use pictures, music, sounds and characters that are yours or that you have permission to use. See Copyright.
- Nothing illegal, and no spam, scams or malware.
A word on satire
Some of our own games are political satire with cartoon public figures. Satire of public figures is fine in games you make too. Putting a private person, or anyone who hasn't agreed, into a game isn't satire.
How to report something
- On gamethesky.com, every game page has a Report button. Pick a reason (a real person who didn't agree, hateful, sexual, violent, spam or other) and send it. You don't need to sign in.
- Anywhere else, or if it's urgent, write to legal@gamethesky.com with a link to it, or message @gamethesky.com on Bluesky.
- If it's you in a game without your say-so, tell us and we'll take it down; you don't have to prove anything beyond that it's you.
- Copyright complaints follow our takedown process.
What happens next
- A person looks at every report. Reports are kept for our moderators only, and we don't tell the maker who sent one.
- If it breaks this policy, we hide it: the game's words and photos are withheld from its page and share card, it's removed from the gallery and the feed, and our announcement post about it is deleted. A run, a cast or a board entry that breaks it comes down too.
- We can't delete records from someone's Bluesky repo. For something serious, we may also report it to Bluesky or the repo's host, and to the authorities.
- For repeat or serious breaches, we keep the account out of our galleries, boards and announcements.
