Takedowns & counter-notices

We respect copyright and expect everyone who makes things in our games to do the same. If something in one of our games uses your work without permission, tell us and we'll take it down.

Effective October 23, 2026. This follows the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Where to send it

Designated copyright agent: Game the Sky
Email: legal@gamethesky.com
Designated agent registration number: pending

Sending a takedown notice

Email the agent above with all of these. A notice without them may not be one we can act on:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name works), as the copyright owner or someone authorized to act for them.
  2. What work you say is being infringed (or, for several, a list of them).
  3. Where it is in our games: a link to the game, run or page, and what in it (the picture, the sound, the chapter), so we can find it.
  4. How to reach you: name, mailing address, phone number and email.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

When we get a valid notice, we hide the material quickly, as described in the Content Policy, and let the maker know, with a copy of the notice (your contact details may be shared with them). Knowingly misrepresenting that something infringes can make you liable for damages, so please check fair use and your rights first.

Sending a counter-notice

If something of yours was taken down and you believe it was a mistake or misidentified, or you have the rights to use it, you can send a counter-notice to the same address, with:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. What was taken down, and where it was before.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, outside the US, any judicial district where Game the Sky may be found), and that you'll accept service of process from the person who sent the notice, or their agent.

We'll send a copy to whoever sent the original notice. If they don't tell us within 10 business days that they've gone to court to keep it down, we'll put it back in 10 to 14 business days after we got your counter-notice.

Repeat infringers

An account that gets valid notices more than once, or once for something flagrant, is kept out of our games' galleries, boards and announcements, and its games and runs are hidden. We can't delete anyone's Bluesky account or repo; that's up to its host.

Not copyright?

For a real person in a game who didn't agree, harassment or anything else, see the Content Policy. Trademark questions go to the same email.
